What matters, technically
We developed a 2500W infrared quartz lamp for the preform heating stage on stretch blow molding machines. The quartz envelope gives you fast response and stable output in the short-wave band, so preforms hit target temperature quickly—and do it the same way, cycle after cycle. Rated at 2500W, it lines up with OEM power profiles to keep heat density consistent across the tunnel zones. The R7s connector and standardized dimensions drop into the common holders and reflectors you already have, so it’s a straight swap for halogen and older quartz emitters.
Why it holds up in real running
In practice, that quick response cuts heating time and narrows the thermal window. That often lets you push cycle rates without scorching the preform. Energy use comes down, too, because the lamp heats on demand—minimal warm-up, less waste heat bleeding into the machine. Over a full shift, fewer temperature drifts mean fewer off-spec bottles and less scrap. In typical blow molder retrofits, we see 12–18% lower heating energy draw, and up to 8% fewer rejects tied to heating variability. Relamping intervals stretch compared with halogen, so you spend less time with your hands in the machine and more time running parts.
The shop-floor details
Installation is straightforward on most blow molders, but do yourself a favor and check reflector condition and socket alignment. Misaligned reflectors and tired insulation will steal output and shorten lamp life. The quartz envelope is tough, but it’s brittle—keep contaminants off it and handle it clean. For the best results, pair the lamp with a clean, reflective tunnel and a calibrated temperature profile.
