
Making PET Heating Lamps That Actually Fit Your Machine
We’ve all been there. You buy a replacement part, and it almost fits. But “almost” doesn’t cut it when your production line is down. That’s why we built our infrared lamps to be simple drop-in replacements for about 95% of the PET blowing machines out there. We didn’t just make a generic lamp. We looked at all the different brands and figured out how to standardize the bits that actually matter—the plugs and the power—so you don’t have to mess around with your machine’s wiring. Let’s talk power. Most PET lines use high-voltage arrays to keep the heat consistent across those long oven banks. We make our tubes in 230V and 400V versions. Here is the trick: the 400V tube lets you crank up the wattage without drawing so much current that you risk melting your wires. It gives you the heat you need for fast cycles. Just a heads-up: if you’re running a 2500W tube, make sure your cooling fans are actually doing their job. If the oven gets too hot, the ends of the lamps will burn out way too fast. The build quality. We use heavy-wall quartz glass. Why? Because cheap glass bows when it gets hot, and that’s a recipe for disaster. We also use halogen-cycled tungsten filaments, which let the lamps run hotter than your standard IR bulb. As for the connections, we stick to R7s and Sk15 bases. They’re the industry standards for a reason. Since the footprints match exactly, you can just swap out a dead lamp and get back to work. No modifying sockets, no hacking the frame. Just plug and play. Getting the heat right. The goal is simple: soften the preform quickly, but don’t scorch the plastic. Our short-wave radiation sinks into the PET wall fast. We even offer coated versions to tweak the emission spectrum. This is a huge plus because it stops heat from wasting away into the oven walls and pushes it straight into the preform. It speeds everything up. You can push your machine faster and still get a bottle with perfectly even walls. No thin spots, no failures. Just a better bottle, faster.
