Let’s be honest: most PET blowing lines are a bit of a mess. You’ve got parts from three different brands, some gear from ten years ago, and a few new additions. It’s all fine until a lamp burns out. Then suddenly, you’re stuck. You spend hours hunting for a replacement that actually fits the footprint and doesn’t fry your electrical system. It’s a headache nobody needs. Getting the Fit Right
It really comes down to three things: the size, the voltage, and the plugs. We stick to the standard lengths and diameters that the big manufacturers use. Plus, we use R7s and Sk15 connectors. This means you can just wire them up and go. No need to hunt for weird adapters or swap out your sockets. But here is where things get tricky:the voltage. If you plug a 230V tube into a 400V circuit, it’s gone. Poof. Instant burnout. To stop that from happening, we keep a huge stock of different voltage and wattage combos. We make sure the heat density actually matches what your power supply can handle.
The Secret Sauce: Quartz and Halogen
We use high-purity quartz glass because it lets the infrared light through without fighting it. If you need a lot of power, we add halogen gas. It lets the filament run hotter without wearing out as fast. Basically, the lamp lasts longer, and you spend less time climbing into the machine to replace it. Some of our tubes have special coatings, too. These help the heat soak into the PET preform more evenly so you don’t get weird spots. Just a heads-up: if you decide to jump from a 1500W tube to a 2500W one, keep an eye on your cooling fans. More power means more ambient heat, and you don’t want to cook your oven.
