Introduction
We built these infrared lamps with one thing in mind: they’re a straight-up, drop-in swap for your Sidel blow molding machine. Seriously. Whether you’ve got an older SBO or the newer Matrix, these just fit. No messing with re-tooling. No rewiring. You swap the old one out, pop this one in, and you’re good to go.
The Power Behind the Fit
Let’s get into what makes these work. We’re talking 400V of power packed into a 300mm tube. It’s a tight fit, but that’s intentional. That voltage is what gives you the intense, focused heat you need to get those PET preforms hot again—fast. And the 300mm length? It’s the standard size for these machines, so the heat hits exactly where it needs to. You get the power you need without having to rework the machine’s electrical setup.
Built to Last Under Pressure
These lamps take a beating, so they’re built tough. The body is made from high-purity quartz. It can handle the shock of going from cold to blazing hot, over and over, without cracking. Inside, we use a halogen gas fill. That’s what keeps the filament stable, so the lamp doesn’t burn out on you after thousands of cycles. Then there are the connectors. We use R7s and Sk15 types—the exact same ones you already have on your Sidel. So you just slide the new lamp in and lock it down. No need to fiddle with wires.
What It Feels Like on the Floor
Here’s the reality of using these on the job. They fire up instantly. No waiting around for a long warm-up. The shortwave IR output gives you precise control over the preform’s surface temperature, which is key for getting consistent bottle quality every time. Now, there is one thing to keep in mind. The 400V, 2500W output is powerful. That means your machine’s cooling system needs to be in solid shape. If the cooling is undersized, the lamp will run hotter than it should, and that can shorten its life. But for the most part, it’s a simple swap. No hassle. Just performance.
