When it comes to the heat curve of an OEM lamp, “close enough” is a recipe for disaster. Anyone who’s spent time on a PET blowing line knows the drill. A couple of degrees off and suddenly you’re dealing with weird wall thickness or that annoying pearlescence. It’s a headache you just don’t need. That’s why we built our replacement infrared lamps to mimic the exact wattage and spectral output of the original Sidel and Krones parts. The “Drop-In” Reality Here’s the thing: we obsess over the specs. If your machine needs a specific amount of power to hit a temperature setpoint in 2.5 seconds, our lamp puts out that exact same energy. We also don’t mess around with the size. Even a single millimeter of difference in length—or a tiny shift in the focal point—means the lamp won’t sit right in the reflector. When that happens, you get uneven heating zones. We made these to be true drop-in replacements. You swap them out, flip the switch, and keep moving. No messing with PLC settings. No wasting hours tweaking oven timings. The Gritty Details We use high-purity quartz glass because these things take a beating with rapid thermal cycling. The filaments are tuned for shortwave IR, so the heat actually sinks into the PET preform instead of just scorching the surface. As for the connectors, we stick to standard R7s or Sk15 depending on your model. They’re built tough. They won’t oxidize or wiggle loose even when the heat gets intense. A Quick Tip for the Floor These lamps can handle a lot of power, which is great for high-speed production. But a word of caution: running them at max output puts a lot of pressure on your oven’s forced-air cooling. If your cooling fans are clogged with dust, your lamps are going to burn out faster—no matter how good the quartz is. Keep those fans clean. At the end of the day, we care about that thermal curve more than anything else. It’s the only way to make sure your bottles stay exactly within spec.
