Here’s the thing: high-wattage short-wave lamps pull a big spike of power the second they kick on. If your contactors aren’t rated for that initial rush, you’re looking at pitted or welded contacts. It’s a quick check that saves a huge headache later. One last bit of advice:be careful with your hands. We’ve balanced the quartz thickness to get the best heat transfer possible, but that makes the tubes a bit delicate. Wear gloves. If you leave skin oils on the glass, it creates a hot spot that can cause the tube to crack. Keep them clean, keep them steady, and your crusts will stay perfect.
